AACPS, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TEAM UP TO OFFER FREE COVID-19 BOOSTERS, SCHOOL READINESS VACCINATIONS

Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Anne Arundel Department of Health again teaming up this summer to help keep students and adults healthy by offering a variety of free COVID-19 and school readiness vaccination clinics at middle schools throughout the county.

The clinics will offer the following vaccinations:

  • COVID-19 boosters (Pfizer) for county residents ages 5 and older, regardless of whether, in the case of school-aged residents, they are enrolled in AACPS for the 2022-23 school year.
  • Seventh-grade Meningococcal vaccine (Menquadfi) and Tdap vaccines for those students entering seventh grade in August who are enrolled in AACPS for the 2022-23 school year.
  • Varicella vaccine for any student entering kindergarten in August who needs a second dose of varicella and is enrolled in AACPS for the 2022-23 school year.

COVID-19 vaccinations and/or boosters are not required for students to attend AACPS schools.

Parents or guardians must register children for each vaccine their child is receiving using specific links as outlined below. Clinics will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. To date, the following clinics have been announced:

  • Tuesday, July 12, 2022: Bates Middle School
  • Wednesday, July 13, 2022: Corkran Middle School
  • Thursday, July 14, 2022: Meade Middle School

Dates for clinics at 12 additional middle schools will be announced as soon as those plans are finalized.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at the vaccine site. Everyone at all clinics must be masked at all times while they are in the clinic.

Registration links for all school-based clinics can be found at www.aacps.org/covidvaccines. To provide equitable access for all interested families, links for the three clinics listed above clinics will be made public at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2022.
