What is the Faces of AACPS?

Stories are one of the most powerful tools we have for building relationships and connecting with each other. When we share our experience, we help others understand who we are and what we value. In AACPS, these experiences often celebrate opportunities our students, families, and staff have at their schools and recognize the teachers, colleagues, and community partners who make those opportunities possible.

The Faces of AACPS is an online, storytelling platform that gives our AACPS community the space to share positive experiences. From writing a quick note to thank a teacher to sharing a life-changing experience in high school, any experience can become a story and every story is worth sharing.

Transforming North Glen’s Volunteer Program

“At Folger McKinsey, the Allergy Awareness group helps bridge the gap between the parents, health room staff, and school staff to create a safe environment for all students.”

During this week-long event, teachers and community volunteers who work in the STEM field collaborate to introduce students to a wide variety of STEM topics and activities.

Kindergarten Kindness Society

In 2018, Broadneck High School’s National Honors Society partnered with Broadneck Elementary to create the literacy-based Kindergarten Kindness Society.

FIRST Lego League Club

To lead Old Mill Middle South’s FIRST Lego League Club, the school turned to two dedicated volunteers.

Monarch Global’s Food Pantry

When the PTA at Monarch Global Academy realized some students were struggling with food insecurity, they immediately decided to open a food pantry.
