“Teen Talk,” Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ student-led TV show that focuses on everyday issues faced by students, has won a national award for excellence.
The show, which was rebooted this year after a 15-year absence, has earned a bronze Telly Award in the Television Series category. Students are involved with the planning of topics and graphic design for the show and work with members of the AACPS Design and Print Services department to produce the monthly effort.
“I’m am incredibly proud of everyone involved in this effort because it puts pertinent and important issues at the forefront and discusses them in an open manner,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell, who was host Camryn Chehreh’s guest on this year’s first episode. “It’s a great collaboration and provides a great service for our students.”

The Telly Awards were founded in 1979 to honor excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials, with non-broadcast video and television programming added soon after. More than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents are received annually. Entries are judged by members of the Telly Awards Judging Council, a group of more than 200 working industry professionals who have previously won an award.
The final episode of “Teen Talk” for this school year airs at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7. It can be seen at www.aacps.org/youtube.
