CHESAPEAKE REGIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STUDENT COUNCILS ELECTS 2023-2024 OFFICERS

The Chesapeake Regional Association of Student Councils (CRASC), the voice of student government in Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS), has elected its officers for the 2023-24 school year.

Broadneck High School junior Brenton Meade was re-elected as president of the organization. Samira Ibrahim, a junior at Severna Park High School, was elected Vice President.

Other officers are:

  • Mara Babb, Crofton High School, Secretary of Legislation
  • Michelle Fadele, Chesapeake High School, Secretary of Education
  • Suha Kim, Arundel High School, Secretary of Communications
  • Jason Semanoff, Jr., Chesapeake Bay Middle School, Middle School Coordinator
  • Nelson Zheng, Severna Park High School, Secretary of Service

CRASC is the representative organization of all students enrolled in the secondary schools of AACPS. Its purpose is to develop leadership skills, promote good sportsmanship, and initiate improvements and activities for the general good of AACPS students.

State law also recognizes CRASC as the governing body that annually elects the Student Member of the Board of Education (SMOB). That person is formally appointed by the governor, and is the only student in the nation on a local Board of Education with full voting rights.
