The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, with the intent of voting on the appointment of an interim superintendent to lead Anne Arundel County Public Schools for the coming year.
The Board has been conducting a search for an interim superintendent since late last month, when Superintendent Kevin Maxwell resigned to become Chief Executive Officer of Prince George’s County Public Schools. Dr. Maxwell’s last day serving Anne Arundel County Public Schools is July 31. Under state law, the Board must appoint an interim superintendent to serve until June 30, 2014.
