Anne Arundel County Public Schools is making more school system information available at the touch of a finger and enabling those outside the school system to receive immediate communications about weather-related issues and other AACPS operations and initiatives with the launch of a new mobile app.
The free app, which can be used on smartphones and tablet devices running iOS or Android and can be downloaded from Google Play and the Apple App Store, allows users to have instant access to the Student Parent Portal, the School Safety Hotline, school menus, school calendars, athletics broadcasts, Board of Education information, the school system’s library media catalog, and more.
In addition, users can follow as many schools of their choice as they wish to receive push notifications from those schools. All users will automatically receive systemwide push notifications. Users can also choose to receive notifications of school Twitter posts.
The app can also be easily translated into different languages by selecting a preferred language in the settings.
“This is another step forward as we seek to continue to provide information to our various audiences through a variety of platforms,” Superintendent George Arlotto said. “I am particularly excited that this app will allow those outside our parents and employees, who already get information through existing platforms, to receive key messages in a timely manner.”
Users can download the app by searching for “Anne Arundel County Public Schools” in Google Play or in Apple’s App Store. Users can also download the app by using a QR Code and get more information on the app’s features at www.aacps.org/mobileapp.
