The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County has added two compensation-related items to the agenda for its next meeting on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.
The Board will consider approval of a tentative agreement with the Secretaries and Assistants Association of Anne Arundel County for Fiscal Year 2019. The Board has already approved agreements with its three other bargaining units. SAAAAC members ratified the agreement on November 12, 2018.
Additionally, the Board will consider modified Terms of Employment for non-represented employees.
The Board will meet in a public session at 5:30 p.m. for the sole purpose of voting to immediately go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public. The public session of the meeting will resume at 7 p.m.
The Board will also consider formal approval of the 2019-2020 School Year Calendar and tentative approval of the 2020-2021 School Year Calendar at the meeting. Those draft calendars can be found online at www.aacps.org/calendar.
Also at Wednesday’s meeting, the Board will hear a presentation regarding changes to the middle school schedule for the 2019-2020 school year.

The general session of Wednesday’s Board meeting will be broadcast live on AACPS-TV, which can be found on Channel 96 on Comcast and Broadstripe, and Channel 36 on Verizon.
