SCHOOLS IN ANNAPOLIS CLUSTER TAKING PART IN ‘FAMILY REUNION’ EVENT ON APRIL 9, 2016

Schools in the Annapolis cluster will join together with community organizations and Men of Courage International to host a free “Family Reunion” day where children and adults can watch performances, engage in activities, and obtain resources that will help build stronger students, schools, and communities.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Annapolis Middle School, located at 1399 Forest Drive. It will feature free food and entertainment that includes the Annapolis High School Performing and Visual Arts Dance Company, the Bates Middle School Jazz Band, the All Children Annapolis Choir, the Guava Jelly Band, and an African drum group.

Representatives of schools and community organizations will be on hand to provide information about available resources to those attending. There also will be plenty of sports, games, and raffles.

Community and governmental organizations scheduled to take part include The Stanton Group (Men Aiming Higher/Head Start), Restoration CDC, the City of Annapolis Office of Emergency Preparedness and Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management, and the Anne Arundel Conflict Resolution Center.

Local businesses also will take part in the event.

Interpreters will be on hand for anyone needing those services.

The mission of Men of Courage International is to help men fulfill their duties as fathers, husbands, community members, and leaders. The group is based in Annapolis and sponsors similar events across the region.
