DAY OF ACTION TO BRING PARENTS, SCHOOL SYSTEM TOGETHER FOR STUDENT SUCCESS

To help provide parents with another avenue to share strategies for academic success and the opportunity to discuss critical issues surrounding the education of their children, Anne Arundel County Public Schools will host a “Day of Action” parent convention from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The event will be held at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, located at 121 South Villa Avenue in Annapolis.

Parents from public housing communities in Annapolis and Anne Arundel County are invited to attend the event, which is part of the Parents Engaged in the Education of their Children Outreach (PEEC-OUT) Program. There will be a panel discussion and several sessions that will address various topics to help and inform parents to support their children.

While the purpose of the event is a serious one, the day will also include fun activities and games through which participants can win prizes.   For more information, call Akeda Pearson-Stenbar at 410-222-5356.
