The artistic skills of emerging student visual artists from Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) are now on display at Westfield Annapolis Mall as part of a partnership between the mall and the school system.
This captivating display, showcasing the talent of almost 3,000 students, is a testament to the vibrant creativity thriving within AACPS. From captivating drawings and paintings to mixed media and stunning photography, the diversity of artistic expression knows no bounds.
The exhibit is situated in the mall corridor between Discoveries Library and Lululemon. It will run through May 8, 2024.
An open house will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Parents, teachers, family members, and friends of the student artists are invited to gather in front of Crate & Barrel at 6:15 p.m. for words of welcome and appreciation by Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark Bedell.
This exhibition not only celebrates the individual achievements of students but also underscores the invaluable role of art education in AACPS. Displaying artwork is not merely a showcase; it is a vital component of the artistic journey, affirming the significance of students’ dedication and creativity. The exhibit also creates a platform for students and teachers alike to share their artistic triumphs with the broader community, fostering a sense of pride and appreciation for the arts.
