ACTING CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER MATT STANSKI EARNS INAUGURAL SCHOOL FINANCE OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR HONOR

Anne Arundel County Public Schools Acting Chief Operating Officer (COO) Matt Stanski has been named as the recipient of the inaugural School Finance Official of the Year Award given by the Maryland chapter of the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO).

The award was created to honor leaders in the area of school business and finance who are outstanding resources not just for their own school systems, but for schools systems across the state.

“Matt is someone who chief financial officers and others turn to regularly for advice, guidance, and support. His knowledge of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future and critical elements of its implementation have been particularly impactful over the last couple years, and will continue to be in the future,” said Jeff LaPorta, Executive Director of the Maryland ASBO chapter. “When we started talking about creating this award, Matt’s name was the one that immediately rose to the surface. He is an asset not just to AACPS but to school systems across Maryland and he is most deserving of this honor.”

Stanski began his tenure at AACPS in 2015 as the school system’s Director of Financial Operations. He assumed his current role in October.

“This award is a reflection of the hard work of everyone at AACPS to provide sound fiscal stewardship for our school system and our taxpayers,” Stanski said. “I am humbled to receive it and look forward to continuing to do whatever I can to help move AACPS and school systems across the state forward as Blueprint changes the face of education.”

Stanski will receive the award at ASBO’s spring convention in May.
