BOARD OF EDUCATION APPOINTS DAN REAGAN AS DIRECTOR OF INTERNAL AUDIT

The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County has appointed Dan Reagan to head its Internal Audit Office, President Joanna Tobin announced today.

Reagan, who started in his position on March 6, comes to Anne Arundel County Public Schools from the Maryland Office of the Inspector General for Education, where he served as Supervisory Inspector General for Investigative Audits. Prior to that position, Reagan served for six years as an internal auditor for Prince George’s County Public Schools and spent seven years in the Office of the Inspector General for the Central Intelligence Agency.

“We are extremely fortunate to have found someone with Dan’s depth and breadth of experience,” Dr. Tobin said. “That experience will serve our Board, our school system, our students, and the taxpayers of our county extraordinarily well.”

The Internal Audit Office assesses school system compliance with Board Policy, Administrative Regulations, laws, contracts, etc. and determines if assets are being utilized effectively and efficiently to achieve established goals.
