MEADE MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL KARLA STEINBACH NAMED ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR BY MARYLAND SCHOOL COUNSELOR ASSOCIATION

The Maryland School Counselor Association has named Meade Middle School Principal Karla Steinbach as its Administrator of the Year for her relentless support of school counselors and the role they play in the social and emotional wellness of students.

The award was established to recognize an administrator of a Maryland school who has both empowered and enriched the school counseling program. It is announced in conjunction with National School Counseling Week, an annual event designed to recognize and celebrate the efforts and value of school counselors and the work they do to support students. This year’s National School Counseling Week ends today.

“At Meade Middle School, we serve an amazing group of students,” said Steinbach, has been principal at the school since 2019 and has worked for Anne Arundel Country Public Schools since 2007. “We celebrate the success of our students and collaborate to help them overcome difficulties. It is imperative that administration works closely with our school counselors so that we can provide the best academic instruction possible to our scholars.”

Located on Fort George G. Meade, Meade Middle School educates approximately 800 students in grades 6 through 8.
