The issues confronted daily by students whose parents or guardians are members of the military and the supports available for those students will take center stage next week as Anne Arundel County Public Schools kicks off the Month of the Military Child with a special forum.
“Growing Up Military, A Panel Discussion” will feature separate panels of adults and AACPS students who will speak from their own experiences and offer input into the ways the community can enhance supports for military dependent children. It will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, in the Board Room of the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.
The forum will also be streamed live on AACPS’ YouTube channel.
Adult panelists will include members from AACPS Student Services, Naval Support Annapolis, and Fort Meade.
The following students will take part in the student panel:
- Jemma Bates, Annapolis High School
- Evie Elder, Old Mill Middle School North
- Iris Levandoski, South River High School
- Finola Quinn, Annapolis High School
- Noah Teichert, Crofton High School
- Charisma Wardlaw, Arundel High School
