BOARD OF EDUCATION TO HOLD PUBLIC WORKSHOP ON CHANGES IN COVID-19 QUARANTINING, CONTACT TRACING PROTOCOLS FOR STUDENTS

The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will hold a public workshop next week to learn more from Superintendent George Arlotto about upcoming changes to quarantining of students as a result of exposure to persons with COVID-19 and to contact tracing protocols.

The workshop will cover changes brought about by the Board’s approval of a motion at its most recent meeting that students who have been determined to be close contacts of a COVID-positive case and who are asymptomatic should not be quarantined beginning in January. Additionally, Dr. Arlotto will provide information about other changes that have been discussed with the Anne Arundel County Department of Health and which will be put in place when students return from the Christmas/Winter break.

The workshop will be conducted virtually and will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021. It will be streamed live on Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ YouTube channel, but not broadcast on AACPS-TV.

No public questions or testimony will be taken during the workshop.
