MARYLAND PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOLS ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION TO BEGIN ADMISSION FEES FOR POSTSEASON CONTESTS

In a return to traditional ticketing procedures as outlined by the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA), the organization that oversees high school athletics in the state, spectators supporting their high school teams in postseason tournaments held in Anne Arundel County and other counties will be charged an admission fee for certain sports and or rounds of the tournaments beginning Saturday, June 5, 2021.

All lacrosse, baseball, and softball contests will be held at the site of the higher seed through the state semifinal round whenever possible. At the outset of the tournaments, stadium events held in Anne Arundel County (lacrosse, track and field) will have an admission fee. Spectators at sectional and regional track meets and early rounds of the lacrosse playoffs be charged $6 admission.

And admission fee for baseball and softball games held in Anne Arundel County will be added starting with the state semifinal rounds. Tickets for all state semifinal and championship contests will sold online. The admission fee will be $8 for state semifinals and $10 for state championship contests.

The host site and the MPSSAA website will provide information and directions for online ticket sales at the appropriate time.

There will be no admission fee for tennis throughout the state tournament. Unified bocce will conclude its season as of June 4, also with no admission fee.

Current COVID-related mitigations and procedures of the host county, to include spectator policies (as applicable), will be followed throughout the playoffs. There will continue to be no concession sales at events hosted in Anne Arundel County.
