For the 39th consecutive year, Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Finance Office has been lauded as one of the nation’s best by earning the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO).
The award is given to organizations that are committed to financial accountability and transparency. It recognizes clear and complete final reporting, and a commitment to fiscal integrity.
“We take incredible pride in being sound and prudent stewards of the funding provided to us by taxpayers of Anne Arundel County,” Superintendent George Arlotto said. “Once again, the awesome team in our Finance Office has shown that carrying out the mission of Sound Stewardship – one of the key parts of our Strategic Plan – is something that is at the core of everything they do. This work is not often accompanied by headlines, but it is incredibly critical to work that goes on in our classrooms and for our children every single day.
