The Northeast High School football team must forfeit the first three games of its season, one of them a victory, for using an ineligible player.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools imposed the penalty after investigating the matter, which was brought forth by Northeast High School officials earlier this month. The investigation determined that the player was ineligible to take part in the team’s September 6, September 13, and September 20 games. Northeast won the first of those three games, but lost the other two.
The player in question is also, by state law, ineligible to participate in athletics for a period of 60 days.
