The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will consider approval of five new courses for the 2018-2019 school year at its next meeting, scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in the Board Room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis.
The courses include two that would provide opportunities for students with special needs to partner with other students in dance and physical education classes in a format designed to develop relationships and leadership skills for all students. Among the other courses the Board will consider are Cybersecurity & Networking and an International Baccalaureate course focusing on problem analysis and solution development.
The Board will also consider approval of nine contracts for school construction projects.
Wednesday’s meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis. The Board will meet in a public session at 8:30 a.m. for the sole purpose of voting to immediately go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public. The public session of the meeting will resume at 10 a.m.

The general session of Wednesday’s Board meeting will be broadcast live on AACPS-TV, which can be found on Channel 96 on Comcast and Broadstripe, and Channel 36 on Verizon.
