For once, the calendar got it exactly right.
Anne Arundel County Public Schools built three days into its 2017-2018 school year calendar, and Mother Nature good-heartedly provided just three days on which closing schools was necessary. As as result, the last day of school for most students will be Friday, June 15, 2018. As detailed below, the last day of school for students at four schools will be Thursday, June 14, 2018, to accommodate summer construction.
Parents and employees should also note the following key dates in place with the calendar:
- The last day of school for graduating seniors is Thursday, May 24, 2018.
- Schools will dismiss two hours early on Thursday, June 14, 2018, and Friday, June 15, 2018.
- The last day of classes at the Centers of Applied Technology will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
- The last day for half-day prekindergarten and ECI students will be Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
- The last day of work for 191-day Unit I and Unit IV employees (classroom teachers, teaching assistants, technology support technicians, etc.) is Monday, June 18, 2018.
Any additional days needed for inclement weather closings would alter the last day of school accordingly.
A complete school year calendar can be found on the AACPS website.
