BOARD OF EDUCATION TO VOTE ON DESIGNS FOR THREE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PROJECTS

The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will hear presentations and vote on the designs for three elementary school projects at its next meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, September 6, 2017. The meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis.

Design documents for revitalization projects at Edgewater, Tyler Heights, and Richard Henry Lee elementary schools will be presented to the Board. The documents provide refinements to schematic designs approved by the Board in May. The projects are estimated to cost between $39.8 million and $45.9 million to complete.

The meeting will also be the first for the Board’s newest member, Colin Reinhard of Linthicum. Mr. Reinhard was sworn in on September 1 to fill the at-large seat vacated by Tom Frank in February. His terms runs through December 2, 2018.

The Board will meet at 8:30 a.m. to vote to go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public. The general session of the meeting, which is open to the public, starts at 10 a.m.

A complete agenda for the meeting accompanies this news release. More information on agenda items will be posted on the AACPS website in the Board Docs section under the Board of Education tab.
