The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County will hear an update on the wellness programs and initiatives throughout Anne Arundel County Public Schools at its next meeting, scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017, in the Board Room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis.
The presentation will coincide with Healthy Anne Arundel Month, and will cover the work of AACPS’ Wellness Council, a collaborative effort with multiple agencies to enhance the health and wellness of students and employees. In particular, the presentation will cover five components of the Coordinated School Health Model and the ways in which schools and offices in AACPS focus attention on the whole child with an emphasis on the school as the hub of the community.
Also at the meeting, the Board will receive an update on AACPS’ transportation routing system.
Wednesday’s meeting will be held in the Board Room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis. The Board will meet at 8:30 a.m. to vote to go into closed session, during which time it will discuss confidential matters as permitted by the Maryland Open Meetings Act including, but not limited to, legal advice, personnel, and negotiations. Closed session is not open to the public. The general session of the meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 10:00 a.m.

The general session of Wednesday’s Board meeting will be broadcast live on AACPS-TV, which can be found on Channel 96 on Comcast and Broadstripe, and Channel 36 on Verizon.
