AACPS SOCIAL WORKER TO BE HONORED FOR STELLAR SERVICE TO SCHOOLS AND THE COMMUNITY

AACPS social worker Claudette Robinson will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Social Work Award from the University of Maryland School of Social Work at its homecoming celebration tomorrow.

Assigned to Van Bokkelen Elementary School for the last 14 years, Robinson has been a steadfast advocate and liaison for the school and its families.

“I have never seen someone so passionate, committed, and dedicated,” Van Bokkelen Elementary School Principal Leonard Massie said. “She doesn’t just take care of the child. The entire family benefits from the long, long hours she spends to support them. She is phenomenal and our children are successful because of the part she plays in their lives.”

Robinson received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland in 1994 and has been mentoring hundreds of young people and guiding hundreds of families ever since.

The Outstanding Contribution to Social Work Award acknowledges and honors a University of Maryland graduate who throughout his or her career has significantly impacted the field of social work and the community at large.
