Former Baltimore Ravens player Qadry Ismail recently stopped by Rolling Knolls Elementary School to congratulate the school’s 437 students for winning the Fuel Up to Play 60 program’s highest honor.
As one of only a few Touchdown schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, Rolling Knolls earned the achievement by implementing a healthy eating and physical activity plan to improve overall school wellness. The plan included a strong commitment by the students to be physically active for at least 60 minutes a day. As a result, the students logged hundreds of hours in physical activity.
In celebration of the students, staff, and community, Ismail gave a speech about making healthy choices and presented the school with an autographed football. Prizes also included a recent visit to M & T Bank Stadium where students participated in activities, tour, talked to a player, and had a healthy lunch in the locker room.
The Fuel Up to Play 60 program is sponsored by the National Football League and the National Dairy Association.
