THREE NEW BOARD MEMBERS TO TAKE OATHS OF OFFICE ON JUNE 5

Clerk of the Court Robert Duckworth will administer the oath of office to the three newest members of the Anne Arundel County Board of Education at a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015, at the county courthouse in Annapolis.

Governor Larry Hogan has appointed the following members to the Board, effective June 5:

  • Tom Frank of Crofton, appointed to the at-large seat formerly held by Andrew Pruski. Mr. Pruski resigned in August and now serves on the Anne Arundel County Council. Dr. Frank will complete Mr. Pruski’s term, which runs through June 30, 2018.
  • Julie Hummer of Laurel, appointed to the at-large seat currently held by Kevin Jackson. Mr. Jackson completed a five-year term on the Board in June 2014 and has continued to serve pending an appointment for the seat from the governor. Mrs. Hummer’s term expires on June 30, 2019.
  • Allison Pickard of Millersville, appointed to the District 33 seat formerly held by Amalie Brandenburg. Ms. Brandenburg resigned in November to become educational liaison to County Executive Steve Schuh. Ms. Pickard will complete Ms. Brandenburg’s term, which expires on June 30, 2016.

All three new Board members will take part in their first Board meeting on June 17, 2015.
