Anne Arundel County Public Schools has expanded its Office 365 environment, with students and employees now having 1 TB of free data file storage capability in the Microsoft “cloud.”
Students and employees can access OneDrive at school, work, and home or on their smartphone using cloud storage, thus eliminating the need for portable storage devices such as flash drives. In October, AACPS gave students free downloads of Microsoft Office Pro Plus, which features Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software on up to five of their personal computers.
“This is just another example of the work our employees who aren’t in schools every day are doing to benefit every one of our students and staff,” Superintendent George Arlotto said. “It is a great benefit for all of our students and our employees to be able to work on documents at school or in their office and then continue that work at home in a safe and secure environment.”
The school system plans to offer free access to Office Pro Plus for employees in the near future.
