Some of Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ finest high school musicians will join the United States Naval Academy Band, which will be performing its annual Side-by-Side Concert at Severna Park High School at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014.
The United States Naval Academy Band, “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest,” has been providing music for the Brigade of Midshipmen and surrounding community since 1852. Located at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, the band offers 15 world-class ensembles which perform a variety of musical styles, ranging from classical to contemporary.
The Concert Band is comprised of some of the nation’s finest musicians. Led by Lt. Cmdr. Bruce McDonald, the ensemble performs a year-round public concert series featuring varied programs of marches, orchestral transcriptions, patriotic music, and classic wind band repertoire.
