Educating Students About The Bay

This year, Oak Hill Elementary was chosen by the Maryland State Bar Association for participation in their program that focuses on improving the health of the Chesapeake Bay while educating students about the Bay and their role in keeping it healthy.

Get Ready to Read!

Just like a walk-a-thon, this program raises money based on how much each entrant reads. In this case, each minute spent reading translated into miles....This program has been in place for four years. In that time, it has raised over eighteen thousand dollars. Of course, it has also helped to support the cause of literacy. The Read-a-Thon is now one of the biggest, most successful school wide events at Linthicum Elementary.

Encouraging Literacy By Sharing Stories

Many schools have guest reader programs. Waugh Chapel Elementary decided to enhance this program by implementing Mystery Reader Days.

“The Mills-Parole Way”

I am very pleased to present Mills-Parole Elementary with this plaque in recognition of your wonderful program that supports literacy as well as the development of caring, competent, and contributing citizens.
