A letter to Ms. Harris and Ms. Daugherty
Good morning,
I hope you are doing well. I would like to highlight two teachers at Severn Elementary School.
First, Ms. K.C. Harris, she worked at Severn Elementary School in 2020-2021 when my daughter Ariatna G. Claudio was in kindergarten. She inspired Ariatna to publish her first children’s book “The Mean Flower, a story about the power of empathy.” The book has been presented at several schools in Maryland and sells worldwide through Amazon.
Ariatna has written and published a second children’s book “The Tooth Fairy and The Tooth Mouse – A Story About Culture Shock” and she has presented the book in Puerto Rico (November 2022) and has attended The Williamsburg Book Festival (February 2023). Ariatna is writing a third book now about a horse she knows with a challenge (poked eye), and the theme is “challenges in life” to address this experience through the eyes of a child.
Second, this year Ariatna is in second grade with Ms. Devin Daugherty and she has been motivating Ariatna to continue her creative writing and supporting her initiative to translate the creative writing into children’s books.
You can find the books Ariatna has published at: www.thoughtsandwonder.com/ or on Amazon www.amazon.com/stores/Almaris-Alonso-Claudio/author/B091NJX3BN?

Ella inspiró a Ariatna a publicar su primer libro infantil “The Mean Flower, a story about the power of empathy”.
