The Washington Post Education Foundation established the Teacher of the Year Award and Principal of the Year Award to recognize educators who exemplify excellence in their profession. (In the past, these awards have been referred to as the Agnes Meyer Principal of the Year and the Distinguished Educational Leadership Award, respectively).
