Real People. Real Stories: The Faces of AACPS

What is the Faces of AACPS?

Stories are one of the most powerful tools we have for building relationships and connecting with each other. When we share our experience, we help others understand who we are and what we value. In AACPS, these experiences often celebrate opportunities our students, families, and staff have at their schools and recognize the teachers, colleagues, and community partners who make those opportunities possible.

The Faces of AACPS is an online, storytelling platform that gives our AACPS community the space to share positive experiences. From writing a quick note to thank a teacher to sharing a life-changing experience in high school, any experience can become a story and every story is worth sharing.

Working Alongside the Teachers Who Impacted Me

"It is very exciting for me to be working alongside the teachers that made such a huge difference in my life growing up!"

Building Community Relations In Unexpected Places

The game of cornhole is fun, friendly, safe, portable, unisex, etc. I thought it would be fun to take a set of boards to various community functions to help build community relations.

Stepping Into Our Favorite Books

If you had a chance to walk down the halls of Maryland City Elementary School on March 8, you would have been greeted by Pete the Cat, Ling & Ting, Fancy Nancy, and lots of Cats in the Hat.

Helping My Kids At Home and in Our School

"Being in the classroom, I’m seeing what they’re going through and I can help and reassure them. Knowing that I have that insight means I’m helping kids here and I’m helping them at home."

Learning New Skills at Park

"I wish the whole world knew that Park is a friendly school where teachers teach you about strategies and skills."

We Are a Family at Park Elementary School

As educators, "We wouldn’t bring our own children here if we didn’t think they’d get the best education possible."
