ALDI

Description: ALDI solicits applications for the ALDI Smart Kids Program.  The program provides funding and gift cards to organizations that promote kids being active and healthy.

The Fender Music Foundation

Description: The purpose of this program is to provide musical instruments and equipment for music instruction programs. Awarded items will be lightly used, blemished, or otherwise imperfect, and will have been collected from manufacturers and retailers. Awarded items may include acoustic guitars, electric guitars, acoustic-electric guitars, bass guitars , and the equipment necessary to play these instruments. In addition, traditional string instruments, woodwind instruments, brass instruments, percussion instruments, keyboards, and voice equipment.

To qualify for the program, participants must be learning how to make music. Participants may be of any age.

Programs needing support must fit into one of the following categories:

  • In-school music classes, in which the students make music
  • After-school music programs that are not run by the school
  • Community music programs that offer music instruction to community members
  • Music therapy programs, in which the participants make the music

Programs must also meet the following requirements:

  • No individual may be denied participation based on musical ability.
  • If participants are charged fees, these fees must be considerably less than the fair market value.
  • The program has been functioning smoothly for at least one year.
  • Each program participant must receive music instruction at lease once a week for at least eight months per year.
  • Applicants must demonstrate that with or without the award, programs will exist for the foreseeable future.

Grant Summary:

The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1000 at a time. Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1000 or the local equivalent, come out of pockets of the chapter’s “trustees” and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects.
