  • Facilitate meaningful, two-way communication among families, community members and schools
  • Develop, implement and monitor training for families to support student success
  • Provide training and assistance to schools family and community outreach efforts
  • Support and encourage community partnerships

The OEASA team, which includes Title I, is working hard behind the scenes each and every day to engage, empower, and educate ALL students to reach their highest potential. By supporting principals, equity liaisons, teachers, families, and community organizations, all schools are encouraged to create a positive growth mindset culture that promotes the belief that every child can learn and grow with dedication and hard work.

To reach this goal, students need more than strong academic programs; they need to know they are seen as individuals, each with a unique background and unique potential, and they need to know that their school wants to do whatever it can to serve them. In short, they need Equity Liaisons.

Raptor University Training

Raptor University:  Visitor Module Basic and Advanced            1 P.M. (CDT)

Raptor University’s series of webinar training sessions and user guides will provide every Raptor user – from first-time users to Client Administrators – the tools that they need to most effectively utilize the Raptor system.

Topics: Visitor, Student, Faculty, and Volunteer modules as well as overall System Administration and Advanced Troubleshooting.

Custodians: Everything But Instruction

Across the county, just over 500 custodians are responsible for the care and safety of 13 million square feet of space. Often working in the background, this incredibly dedicated group of professionals take care of everything but instruction to make sure our school buildings are ready for our students to learn.

Captain Planet Foundation

Funder: Captain Planet Foundation Grants for the Environment
Available Funds: Captain Planet Foundation will accept small grant requests for amounts between $500 – $2,500.
Deadline: September 30th– typically for spring and summer projects January 31st– typically for fall and winter projects.
Summary:  Grants are made for activities that conform to the mission of the Captain Planet Foundation and MUST have all three of the following to be considered for funding: Be project-based; Projects must be performed by youth; and Projects must have real environmental outcomes. Grants from the Captain Planet Foundation are intended to: Provide hands-on environmental stewardship opportunities for youth; Serve as a catalyst to getting environment-based education in schools; Inspire youth and communities to participate in community service through environmental stewardship activities. – See more at their website.

American Honda Foundation Grants for Education

Funder: American Honda Foundation Grants for Education

Deadline: Rolling and applications will be considered on these dates: Feb 1, May 1, Aug 1, and Nov 1

Available Funds: The maximum award is $75,000.

Summary:

The American Honda Foundation engages in grant making that reflects the basic tenets, beliefs and philosophies of Honda companies, which are characterized by the following qualities: imaginative, creative, youthful, forward-thinking, scientific, humanistic and innovative. We support youth education with a specific focus on the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects in addition to the environment The American Honda Foundation makes grants to K-12 schools, colleges, universities, trade schools, and other youth-focused nonprofit organizations for programs that benefit youth and scientific education.

Eligibility: Nonprofit charitable organizations classified as a 501(c) (3) public charity by the Internal Revenue Service, or a public school district, private/public elementary and secondary schools as listed by the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) are eligible for funding.

NEA Foundation Learning and Leadership Grants

Funder: The NEA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the National Education Association, is a public charity supported by contributions from educators’ dues, corporate sponsors, and others. The foundation supports student success by helping public school educators work with key partners to build strong systems of shared responsibility.

Deadline: Oct 15, Feb 1, June 1

Available Funds: The grant amount is $2,000 for individuals and $5,000 for groups engaged in collegial study. All $5,000 group grant applicants must include partner information.

Eligibility: To be eligible, applicants must be a pre-K–12 public school educator; a public school education support professional; or a faculty or staff member at a public institution of higher education. The foundation encourages education support professionals to apply. All applicants must be current members of the National Education Association.
Summary: As part of an effort to achieve this goal, the foundation is inviting applications for its Learning and Leadership Grants program. The program provides grants to public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education to fund their participation in high-quality professional development experiences such as summer institutes or action research; or grants to groups to fund collegial study, including study groups, action research, lesson study, or mentoring experiences for faculty or staff new to an assignment. Bus Drivers & Attendants: First Stop on the Road to Learning

The Awesome Foundation is a global community advancing the interest of awesome in the universe, $1000 at a time. Each fully autonomous chapter supports awesome projects through micro-grants, usually given out monthly. These micro-grants, $1000 or the local equivalent, come out of pockets of the chapter’s “trustees” and are given on a no-strings-attached basis to people and groups working on awesome projects.
