Glen Burnie, MD – February 21, 2025

Jason Tran, a standout student in the Biomedical Allied Health (BMAH) magnet program at Glen Burnie High School, has been recognized for his outstanding community service with citations from Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman and the Department of Aging and Disabilities.
Jason’s leadership and dedication to public health led him to collaborate with the agency to develop customized health and first aid kits for underserved senior citizens in Anne Arundel County. He secured grant funding, organized fundraising efforts, and collected donations to ensure seniors received essential health supplies.
His commitment to service extends beyond his local community.
A QuestBridge Scholar, Jason has earned a full scholarship and will attend the University of Pennsylvania this fall, where he plans to pursue a career in medicine.
“We are incredibly proud of Jason’s achievements and his commitment to improving the health and well-being of our community,” said Carol Young, site coordinator for the BMAH program.
“His initiative and compassion reflect the values we strive to instill in all of our students.”
