Do me a favor for one second…
It’ll only take a minute.
Really, it will be quick.
What I want you to do is open up whatever streaming app you use…
Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, SoundCloud, whatever you use…
Now I want you to go to your playlists and look at what artists you listen to the most. Whether it’s the Beatles and Elton John, Biggie and Tupac, N’SYNC and the Backstreet Boys or Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
Whoever you listen to, just think for one second how old they were when they released their songs.
Now, I would bet that almost all of them were adults, out of college, in their 20s. Yet that is not the full music demographic. There are so many talented and up and coming young artists, and
it is time for them to be recognized.
With that being said, I have the great honor of announcing AACPS TV’s School Sounds!!
We will be highlighting bands, groups, solo artists, and other musicians from our own AACPS high schools, celebrating them for their musical achievements so they can thrive and succeed in the future.
I am so pleased to announce that, coming soon, we will be releasing our first episode featuring Severna Park’s own, Ivy League!
Ivy League is a group of 3 high school juniors, Keith Ivey, Cameron Blackburn, and Nicholas Stohler, who will be playing their original works for us!
So please stay tuned and check back here soon to enjoy the incredible talents of AACPS’s young musicians!
