A story of appreciation for: Mrs. Pamela Joop
From: Bana Mahmoud, an AACPS: Parent, Crofton Meadows Elementary School
I want to share how much we appreciate Mrs. Joop and her work with my daughter and our family. As emigrant parents who have less communication skills, Mrs. Joop was all the time very supportive and a partner to my family.
The first time I met Mrs. Joop at Crofton Meadows, I was nervous about how Mrs. Joop would say my daughter’s name, Nouralhuda. Usually, we call her Nour to make it easier for others and me and her father were considering changing her name because it was a problem with her previous pre-school teacher and friends. But with Mrs. Joop everything was so easy. When we heard Ms. Joop say Nouralhuda’s full name I was so happy. The name comes from our culture. When Mrs. Joop made a choice to accept the different and difficult name to pronounce, she accepted our differences and made me and my family feel the Unity that you speak about in schools.
Now with online learning, she is here all the time. With her fast response to every e-mail, sometimes I feel she is working all day. We appreciate her and all the Crofton Meadows school community. Someone like Ms. Joop will make the world a better place. We are so grateful that you are Nouralhuda’s teacher.
