I am an AACPS: Employee, Severna Park Middle School
Severna Park Middle had an entire week of festivities to celebrate Unity Day. We did counseling lessons on how to be a good friend in 6th grade. Seventh grade classes had lessons on Diversity and Inclusion. Eighth graders received lessons on the topic of Empathy throughout October and on Wednesday, October 23, everyone wore orange.
Also, on Thursday, October 24, we had our first ever school wide Unity Day Pep Rally. There were be over 1500 people on the fields in front of our school. Our school community gathered together to celebrate and embrace Unity.
