A story of appreciation for Ms. Charity Crawford, Sunset Elementary School, from:
Lisa Moyer, an AACPS: Parent, Sunset Elementary School
Our son, Bryce, has always loved school and we knew going into 5th grade this year would be no exception. After his first day of 5th grade he came home with a new type of excitement in his voice. He said ” Mom, I’m going to love 5th grade!” When I asked him how he knew that already he said “My teacher is so positive and happy and she makes learning so much fun! I can tell she loves teaching in the way she treats us with respect and listens to us.” My eyes filled with tears after hearing my, then 10 year old, explain how much of an impact this new adult in his life had already made on him. The year just continued with many more days of Bryce coming home excited about something new Ms. Crawford had taught his class. Her creativity and positive outlook on teaching has been such a blessing to her class. I, honestly, don’t know how you can take some of these 5th grade topics and make it fun but somehow Ms. Crawford does. She has a very special gift that is rare to find and my son and family have been so lucky to have experienced this gift. Thank you Ms. Crawford for loving your students the way you do and always being their biggest supporter and fan. The impact that you have had on our son will carry with him for the rest of his life and we will be forever grateful.
