A story of appreciation for Marley Glen
Laura Booth, an AACPS: Parent, Marley Glen
My son has severe autism and is non-verbal. At the end of August 2018 my son was admitted inpatient at Kennedy Krieger for severe behavioral issues. He spent 7 months there. Towards the end of his stay our family also had to move. We actually ended up moving March 23rd and my son was released March 26th. He not only had to come out to a brand new home, but also a brand new school. I started speaking with Anne Arundel County schools before we had even found a new home. Everyone I spoke to was amazing. The special needs department immediately went into action to prepare for the arrival of my son. They even went and visited him at the hospital to get to know him. I was beyond impressed and so thankful. My son started his new school, Marley Glen School on March 27th. The school and his teacher welcomed him with open arms and has treated him as if he were her own. Everyone on his team has been wonderful to work with and over the past two weeks my son has even started to repeat and sing a lot of words. Moving to Anne Arundel County has been a blessing for our family.
