There is a family atmosphere at Park Elementary. They are all about the kids and the families. Ms. Blondell believes, like I do, that you not only need to educate the child, you need to educate the parents. Outside of Back-to-School nights and Title I events, if parents have questions about a form or need help filing something out on the computer, they can always come in and someone will be here to help. Even before school starts, we have an Open House to show parents what to expect and for them to know they can come in and get help. Some of these parents face challenges that others don’t face in other parts of the county. But working at Park, we are seeing people come in and try to make the community better.
