Compass Government Partners
We are an AACPS: Business Partnership | 2019 Business Partner of the Year Nominee
Recognized for their support of AACPS by South River High School
Over the past 3 years Tyler Bennett and Compass Government Partners has been an integral part of our Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) Signature Program. Mr. Bennett, a Severna Park High School Graduate, has shown time and again that to give with purpose is his life’s goal, one he demonstrates daily through unbridled acts of unconditional giving. While Mr. Bennett volunteers his time with numerous organizations and initiatives throughout our community, his true passion is empowering youth: building their self-esteem and providing a strong foundation for their future through development of communications and leadership skills. This passion brought Mr. Bennett to offer his time and expertise to Anne Arundel County Public Schools, where his knowledge, compassion, and leadership could benefit our students
Mr. Bennett has touched every component of South River’s Signature Program in some fashion and provided support and expertise at every turn. Mr. Bennett is always willing to give back in any way he can to any initiative that benefits students, whether it be his professional expertise on a school program, technical skill on a presentation, planning and supervising a field trip, or simply an hour of his time to provide guidance to a student preparing for a key internship interview. In Career Conversations, Mr. Bennett started a Civics Virtues series for South River students. During these sessions the students discuss ethics, how government affects their personal lives, how government works, and how important their individual voice is. The students are developing interest in current world events as relevant to their lives.
South River High School is truly fortunate to have Tyler Bennett as a friend and champion, and his value as a partner cannot be overstated. In every aspect of his life, in every way imaginable, Tyler Bennett exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and leadership. Tyler has always wanted nothing more than to “give for the greater good;” to use what he learned throughout his life to help better the lives of others and to provide our youth with the tools and skills they need to lead productive lives of purpose and meaning. The South River family is rich in so many ways because of people like Tyler Bennett who, “approaches each day with the attitude…what can I do today to have a positive impact and improve the lives of others?” South River High School could not have asked for a better mentor for our students, or a better partner for our initiatives.
