AA-SECAC will hold a Special Education Resource Fair on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Severna Park Middle School in the cafeteria. This is an opportunity for families and AACPS staff to meet community groups and organizations that provide services, supports, resources and programs for families with individuals with special needs. Along with the representatives of the community groups and organizations, Staff from the AACPS Division of Special Education and SECAC members will be there to talk with families and answer questions. There will be refreshments and door prizes and all are welcome to drop in during the hours of 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

This year, participating groups will include: Annapolis Music Therapy, Talisman Therapeutic Riding, RISE for Autism, The Musical Autist, The Cisco Center, Anne Arundel County Special Olympics, Army Community Services, Anne Arundel County Adaptive Recreation, MANSEF, Accessible Resources for Independence, Bello Machre, The Anne Arundel County Conflict Resolution Center, Asperger Parent Support, The Arc of the Central Chesapeake, AACPS Division of Special Education staff including Infants and Toddlers, Partners for Success, Compliance and Legal Issues, and more.

AA-SECAC is an advisory committee to AACPS with membership of AACPS staff, community members and parents. SECAC partners with the AACPS Division of Special Education to identify priorities, goals and potential solutions to improve achievement and outcomes of students with special needs and disabilities in AACPS. AA-SECAC generally meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Parham Board of Education Bldg., 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis.
