A dozen AACPS career and technology students won their respective categories at the recent SkillsUSA Region 3 championships and 33 students overall earned the right to participate in the upcoming state competition. In an event designed to showcase the area’s best and brightest career and technology education (CTE) students, 11 county students placed second in their respective categories, and 10 more placed third.

The above students will be joined by others from the county’s Centers of Applied Technology North and South whose categories were not included in the regional competition in the SkillsUSA Maryland State Competition April 15-16. Students who place first in the state competition will move on to the 52nd annual National Leadership and Skills Conference, set for June 20-24 in Louisville, Kentucky.
