I am an AACPS: Volunteer, Windsor Farm Elementary School | Parent

It’s been an honor and a privilege to volunteer at Windsor Farm. When my eldest child started at the school in 2012, I was excited about the fact that I could volunteer at her lunch and recess and could see her during the day. I enjoyed interacting with the students and meeting her new friends. When the role of volunteer coordinator opened up a year later, it was my honor to take the position. I love coordinating volunteers for the many needs of our school and gathering helpers to assist our wonderful staff, admin and teachers. I am a room mom in all of my children’s classes, serve on our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) board, chair our largest fundraiser and silent auction, copy for my children’s teachers, and help in guidance groups.

It’s been truly rewarding serving on the board, playing an active role and seeing the benefits of the PTO to our school. I try to do anything and everything I can to assist the teachers who give their all to our children’s future. The environment at Windsor Farm is welcoming and warm. It was an honor that I hold close to my heart to be awarded volunteer of the month alongside my very good friend Kelly Cooper in December 2015. As Volunteer Coordinator, I make it my #1 goal to make sure our volunteers feel honored and valued for the time they give. I am truly grateful for my opportunity to volunteer and serve and truly grateful to the incredible volunteer base at Windsor Farm that makes the school the wonderful place it is. Whenever there is an opportunity to help a child, I encourage everyone to give whatever time you may have, to do it. You won’t regret making a difference and the reward is the sparkle in their little eyes and the smiles on their faces. A huge heartfelt thank you to the admin and staff at Windsor Farm who make this all possible!
