The Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) is proud to announce the Teach 4 Anne Arundel Scholarship<\/a> (T4AA), a four-year scholarship program intended for graduating high school seniors from AACPS who will be enrolled in a college program that prepares them for teaching certification upon graduation.<\/p>\n

Student <\/i><\/b>Requirements:<\/i><\/b><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n

<\/td>\n<\/td>\n\u00b7 Anne Arundel County Public Schools (<\/span>AACPS) Graduating Seniors<\/strong><\/span><\/i> who intend to pursue a college degree, obtain a Maryland teaching certification, and return to AACPS to teach<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span>AACPS Graduating Seniors<\/span><\/i> who have an excellent attendance record<\/strong> in high school and have at least a 2.5 GPA<\/strong> (unweighted).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Teach 4 Anne Arundel (T4AA) applicants must be accepted to a degree producing college or university in Maryland where education courses are offered, including Anne Arundel Community College (AACC).\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

<\/td>\n<\/td>\n\u00b7 T4AA recipients must attend a degree producing college or university in Maryland where education courses are offered, including AACC, and agree to participate in paid AACPS work experiences throughout their college experience. <\/span>T4AA recipients must apply as a Temporary AACPS employee <\/span>here<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 T4AA recipients will initially receive a <\/span>$5,000 scholarship<\/b>, paid directly to the student, to assist with college expenses.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 At the <\/span>end of each college semester<\/span><\/i>, the T4AA recipients are required to send an official copy of their transcript to the <\/span>Executive Director of the Education Foundation of Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS)<\/span><\/i>. A <\/span>2.5 minimum GPA is required<\/span><\/i> with a 2.8 GPA in courses related to education and teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Following the T4AA recipients\u2019 first year of college, they <\/span>will be required to work in one of the many AACPS summer camp programs<\/span><\/i> as a paid staff member for approximately 4 \u2013 6 weeks. <\/span>Please click <\/span>here<\/b> for more information about the variety of summer offerings<\/span><\/a>. A copy of the satisfactory performance review from the Summer Camp position must be forwarded to the Executive Director of the Education Foundation of AACPS.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n
Year<\/b><\/td>\n2<\/b><\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/td>\n\u00b7 <\/span>Upon successful completion of their first year of college and the summer camp work experience<\/b>, the T4AA recipients will <\/span>receive an additional $5,000<\/b> for their second year of college.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 The T4AA recipients are required to send an official copy of their transcript to the <\/span>Executive Director of the Education Foundation of AACPS<\/span><\/i>. A <\/span>2.5 minimum GPA is required<\/span><\/i> with a 2.8 GPA in courses related to education and teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 Following the T4AA recipients\u2019 second (sophomore) year of college, they will be <\/span>required to work in either<\/span><\/i> one of the AACPS summer camp programs or in one of the AACPS summer school programs.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

<\/td>\n<\/td>\n\u00b7 <\/span>After successfully completing their second year of college and the summer work experience<\/b>, T4AA recipients will <\/span>receive the third installment of $5,000<\/b> for their college expenses.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 During the T4AA recipients\u2019 third (junior) year of college, they are encouraged to apply for and accept substitute teaching positions during school breaks.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 In the summer between the T4AA recipients\u2019 third & fourth (senior) year of college, they <\/span>will serve as a paid Teaching Assistant<\/span><\/i> in one of AACPS\u2019 summer schools. During this experience, they will have the opportunity to co-teach classes. A copy of the satisfactory performance review from the Summer Camp position must be forwarded to the Executive Director of the Education Foundation of AACPS.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n
Year<\/b><\/td>\n4<\/b><\/td>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
<\/td>\n<\/td>\n\u00b7 To receive the <\/span>fourth & final $5,000<\/b> installment, T4AA recipients with a GPA of 2.8 or higher <\/span>must be offered and accept<\/b> a teaching position with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. A <\/span>signed contract or offer letter<\/b> must be presented to the Executive Director of the Education Foundation of AACPS.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 If a T4AA recipient does not accept a teaching position with Anne Arundel County Public Schools within one year of graduating college, then the final $5,000 installment will be forfeited.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
