As a school system, we truly believe our goals can be met and surpassed with the help of all stakeholders. Monarch Global Academy\u2019s Food Pantry is evidence of just how true this is. We know that if our students are hungry they are not able to perform at their highest level. The PTA at Monarch Global Academy and its volunteers realized that some students and families at their school were struggling with food insecurity. They immediately decided to open a food pantry to address these needs. Parents and community members donate food to supply the pantry and volunteers sort the food for distribution on Fridays. Families come to the school to pick up the food and, in cases where they can\u2019t come to the school, volunteers take the food to the families. The program involves over 40 volunteers and provides food to 20 students each week.<\/p>\n
