Recognized for their support of AACPS by the Department of Alternative Education and Programs
Pastor Sheryl Menendez, who leads the Restoration Community Development Corporation, continues to be a staunch advocate not only for Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS) but for Anne Arundel County as a whole.
Through her non-profit organization, she and her staff have supported several of AACPS’ Annapolis, Glen Burnie, and Brooklyn Park area schools with mentoring and various family support services. Pastor Menendez has also established a community center in the Brooklyn Park area that provides enriching after school activities to AACPS students ensuring they have access to safe places where they can study and interact with their friends while under the supervision of caring adults. Additionally, this year, Pastor Menendez has opened her doors to AACPS’ ACE Program. The ACE Program is an intervention program designed to serve students from Brooklyn Park, Corkran, and Marley Middle Schools. Pastor Menendez has been an active member of the ACE program by attending all stakeholder meetings and offering any support the program needs. It should also be noted that Pastor Menendez sponsors a series of food bank giveaways in which her non-profit organization provides thousands of pounds of healthy foods to countless Anne Arundel County families.
Pastor Menendez’s impact is far reaching and sincerely appreciated. She and her organization continue to provide a great deal in the way of support for AACPS’ students and families. The Department of Alternative Education and Programs are very fortunate to have such a caring and committed business partner supporting AACPS.
