Ranger Burman has been with Anne Arundel County Parks Department for 13 years and has been Senior Park Ranger for 6 of those 13 years. He specializes in special events, research and programming. He graduated from Catawba College Center for the Environment in 2004 majoring in Environmental Science with a concentration of herpetology and environmental education. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and passions with those around him to engage students and teachers in not just learning about Environmental Science, but to help cultivate them into globally responsible citizens of our society.

Mr. Burman has been a community partner with our schools in Anne Arundel County for many years. He visits schools to lead nature walks, outdoor educational experiences, and auditorium assemblies educating our young scholars on Environmental Science linking their learning in the classroom to the real world. As he shares his experiences with students and teachers, engaging them in learning about environmental science, he helps each student understand their role as globally responsible citizens of our society. He truly expands the students’ learning horizons and provides enriching experiences outside the normal classroom setting.

Here are just a few of the many positive testimonials teachers and staff have provided to share about their experiences with Ranger Burman:

“Ranger Dave engages my students better than most speakers we have had at our school.”–Sharon Moesel, Science Teacher, Annapolis High School.
