The annual Back-to-School Program coordinated by Anne Arundel County Public Schools and the Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services has received thousands of donations for needy students this year, but the program still needs donations for nearly 1,500 students for the upcoming school year.
The program annually matches donors with local elementary schools to help provide back-to-school supplies to students who need them. Donors, like Allstate Insurance which donated $3,000 in addition to pairing up with 100 students, purchase backpacks stocked with all the required materials, and then deliver the backpacks to the students’ respective schools.
