TWO STUDENTS AWARDED CORPORATE-SPONSORED NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Katherine Langdon of Arundel High School and Eric Stoker-Spirt of Old Mill High School are the most recent county seniors to earn scholarships through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The two are among approximately 8,000 talented students from across the country who have won scholarships totaling nearly $35 million this year.

The corporate-sponsored awards range between $500 and $10,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study.  Langdon’s award is sponsored by the Mitre Corporation in support of her pursuit of a degree and career in international relations. Stoker-Spirt will receive the James E. Casey Scholarship, sponsored by the UPS Foundation.  He plans to study science/research.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation will name more scholarship winners throughout the spring and early summer.
